Support

Many organisations have supported us in the last four years, and without that support we would not have been able to complete the projects we wanted to. Special thanks to The RW Mann Trust, The Barbour Foundation, The Ridley Family Charity, The Rotary Club, The Community Foundation, Truemark Trust, The Joicey Trust, Sir James Knott Trust, Newcastle Building Society and Bernard Sunley.

ASDA at Ashington have been very kind, and particularly supportive of our Coffee Mornings and Members Christmas events.

Plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, pies, biscuits, cakes, sausage rolls, quiches, crisps, pickles and other buffet items have ensured members and visitors are well-looked after.

They also donated financially towards our kitchen refurbishment,  funded cleaning equipment during the Covid pandemic and donated more towards our music nights.

The Co-op have also helped us on more than one occasion. They supported our funding for our kitchen extension and have helped with our Coffee Mornings.

In fact it was the Co-op customers themselves who got behind our kitchen extension project and donated their share of the profits to the refurbishment.

Lately they've donated coffee cups and supplies to help us with our social events.

Lindsay Freeman and Linda Dick did a fantastic amount of fundraising for Diabetes and for our own charity earlier in the year. 

We very much-appreciated the gesture and the money went towards funding our Community Garden. One of our seats contains a plaque in memory of Ken Dick.

We've had great support many times from Councillors . They provided us with a large amount of the funding we needed for our kitchen extension and Community Garden scheme, and for power tools.

We were glad to be asked to be part of their Christmas lights switch-on in  November 2022, and have been part of it every year since then.

Northumberland Community Chest have also given us financial support on more than one occasion, helping fund our table refurbishments, our redecoration projects, the replacement of our carpets, our kitchen extension, our outside toilet/utility room and more recently helped with funding towards our extension.

We have a fantastic group of members who regularly use our facilities and support our events, and without their commitment, we wouldn't generate enough income to survive.

We have a fantastic community who give us tremendous support. For example, our monthly coffee mornings are always busy.

If the weather is good, we don't need a second chance to set up in the Garden!

We have had a fantastic response from many, many organisations who have helped us financially....without their amazing help, belief and support we wouldn't have been able to develop the institute as much as we have.....

.....some of our funders have helped us more than once....we simply cannot thank them enough, and there are too many to mention individually.

We really appreciate everything they've provided!
